RUG INSIGHT
Viscose yarn is made from regenerated cellulose, primarily derived from plant-based materials like wood pulp or cotton linters. The cellulose is chemically processed to create a smooth, shiny fiber that's often used as a silk substitute in textiles due to its softness, sheen, and drape.
One well-known company that supplies viscose and related yarns is Lenzing AG, an Austrian company specialising in cellulose-based fibers. They are known for producing viscose and other specialty fibers like TENCEL® and LENZING™ ECOVERO™, which are used in a variety of textile applications.
Another notable company is Birla Cellulose, part of the Aditya Birla Group, which is one of the largest producers of viscose fibers.
